Wonderful Wimples

Wimples are such versatile garments! Wear them around the neck as a scarf or cowl, or pull them up as a hood to keep the ears and head warm. These lacy wimples add beauty to functionality.

Each wimple is worked in the round from the bottom edge to the top, with two strands of laceweight yarn held together. Pattern includes all three designs, and all are recommended for Intermediate lace knitters. NOTE: Fiddlesticks Knitting patterns are charted.

Recommended yarn for each wimple:

2 balls Fiddlesticks Knitting Exquisite (50% mulberry silk, 50% merino wool) each ball approx. 50 g / 500 m

Approximate wimples sizes:

Each wimple measures about 30 to 36 inches circumference at shoulders and 22 inches circumference at head opening. Length is 18 inches but can be made longer or shorter if desired.

Needles:

3.5 mm (US 4) 24-inch circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge in stocking stitch:

4 inches = 24 stitches
