Serenity Stole

This easy to knit stole is perfect for those moments when you need some serenity in your knitting. The delicate, barely there lace makes a quietly sophisticated statement. Plenty of rhythmical knitting makes this an ideal project for travelling or relaxed TV watching. The generous size allows it to wrap softly around your shoulders and stay in place—it’s sure to be a staple in your wardrobe.

The stole is cast on at one end and knit to the other in stocking stitch with lace worked on one side only. NOTE: Fiddlesticks Knitting patterns are charted. Recommended for Beginner lace knitters.

Recommended yarn:

3 balls Fiddlesticks Knitting Exquisite (50% mulberry silk, 50% merino wool) each ball approx. 50 g / 500 m

The silk content of this yarn allows the stole to drape softly and without curling—a different fibre content may not have this desired effect.

Finished size:

27 inches wide and 80 inches long, but size can easily be changed.

Needles:

3.5 mm (US 4) or size needed to obtain gauge

4 mm (US 6) (for casting on and off)

Gauge in stocking st:

4 inches = 19.5 stitches and 32 rows
