Romance Shawl

The Romance Shawl features pretty lace patterns specially designed to create a romantic impression. There are hearts in a rosebud trellis, cupid's darts, a chain of hearts and a unique double edging.

The shawl is started at the middle top and increases at the sides and middle to create a triangular shape. Lace is worked on one side only and the return rows are purled. The trickiest bit is picking up the stitches at the lower edge for the double edging, but the pattern includes helpful hints. Recommended for Advanced Intermediate lace knitters.

Recommended yarn:

Any fine laceweight or cobweb yarn suitable for fine lace knitting. The pattern was originally designed for Artisan NZ Merino Lace Weight yarn (20 g skein = 300 m: 3 skeins in a lighter colour and 1 skein in a darker or variegated colour for the edging).
