This is a Shetland-style square shawl using traditional Shetland lace patterns. The construction is simple — a central square is knit, then stitches are picked up all around and worked on circular needles, after which the lace edging is added.
Recommended for Advanced Intermediate or Experienced knitters.
This pretty and feminine shawl is knit on 3.5 mm (US 4) and 4 mm (US 6) needles. The pattern was designed for six skeins of Artisan NZ Merino Lace Weight yarn (20 gram skein = 300 metres), but any fine laceweight or cobweb yarn would be an acceptable substitute. Finished size is 52 inches square.
