The Flirty Ruffles Shawl is an elegant wrap featuring the very old and traditional lace pattern "Print o' the Wave." The ruffles add an unexpected and flirty touch, and swirl enticingly as you move around.
Recommended for Intermediate knitters.
This shawl is knit on 3.25 mm (US 3) needles and starts at the centre top. As you knit the beautiful wave pattern, the rows become longer until the ruffle is finished in a simple knit and purl stitch. The ruffle takes a bit of time, but makes for ideal TV watching! When you're finished, though, you'll want to be out showing off your shawl instead of sitting around the tube.
The pattern uses six ounces of Zephyr Wool-Silk (1,890 yards). Finished size is 72 inches across the top edge and 39 inches from the middle top to the bottom point, excluding ruffle.
